The Road to a New Home!
By Family Support

Born, raised and schooled in McKinney , it was natural for Tracy Sawyer to dream that her Habitat home would be built in McKinney .  Indeed, it shall be!

Tracy was approved for a NCC Habitat home in the fall of ’08.  She immediately started working on the 300 Sweat Equity hours required in order to receive keys to her home.  This she does with a constant smile and friendly laugh.

Tracy grew up with ten brothers and sisters in a home that bustled with activity.  Most of her family is still in McKinney which means lots of special gatherings.  Tracy was introduced to NCCH when her sister, Carla Jones, became a Habitat homeowner.  In fact, they will live two blocks from each other!

Two Texas born sons, Eric and Josiah, fill Tracy ’s life with fun boy activities.  Both boys attend Burks Elementary.  Eric, age 10, is into electric games and computers and loves to read.  Josiah, age 9, would rather be outside and isn’t too very fond of reading.

Tracy has been employed by Provident Living Center in McKinney for ten years.  She is a Lead Nurse Aid caring for Alzheimer patients.  How fortunate these individuals are to have such a compassionate person seeing to their needs.  A very deep and dedicated faith keeps Tracy active in her church, Lively Hill Church of God and Christ.  When there is time in her busy schedule, she enjoys music.

NCC Habitat is fortunate to have this tenacious, people loving person on board!  Tracy ’s home on Throckmorton is sponsored by Simpson Strong Tie, Home Depot and the May 2010 SMILES Concert.  We are still in need of volunteer sponsors for this home.
